The company

Our client are one of the largest construction equipment distributors in the UK, who supply some of the most ground breaking and exciting products on the market today. They are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join their team in Redditch, for a 12-month Fixed Term, covering maternity leave.

The role

A Payroll Assistant is now required to join the team in Redditch on a full-time basis, working 35 hours a week (Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30pm or 9-5pm). They will report into the HR Manager.

You will take responsibility for:

  • Process monthly payroll for over 250 employees and handle new hires, leavers, and updates in the HR database.
  • Monitor SPA expiry dates, manage holiday balances, and oversee weekly employee expenses.
  • Administer Statutory Sick Pay, Maternity Pay, Paternity Pay schemes, process P46 & P11D forms and manage pension schemes.
  • Support taxation and National Insurance queries, ensuring documentation authorisation and reconciliation of monthly pay runs.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, continuously improving processes.

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

  • Experience in a payroll position, dealing with the entire process and full accountability
  • Understanding of payroll-related aspects of employment law
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Outlook & Excel
  • Ability to develop and manipulate reports from the system
  • Organised with an excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise

Other DESIRABLE skills include:

  • Qualification in Payroll or equivalent
  • Experience of Ceridian payroll system and SD Worx
