Mechanical Fitter

The Company
One of the UK's Largest independent chemical manufacturers, supplying into a diverse range of sectors globally, such as agriculture, pharmaceutical, automotive, and special chemical industries. Due to an increase in demand with key customers, the company are now seeking a mechanical fitter to join the team at their West Bromwich based facility.

Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 16:30

The role
A mechanical fitter is required to join the mechanical department at their West Bromwich based Facility.

You will take responsibility for:

• Preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, pipework, etc.
• To carry out installations and commissioning work
• To conduct routine inspections and pressure testing on all equipment
• Using and updating CMMS software and working in accordance with safety systems and regulations
  
  

What you need

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

• Ideally apprentice trained or NVQ Lvl 3 or equivalent in mechanical fitting/engineering or a similar discipline
• The ability to use and interpret technical drawings
• Previous experience of working in heavy engineering or fast-paced production environments
• Good knowledge of EHS requirements
  
  
  

Other DESIRABLE skills include:

• Ideally trained with MEWPs and/or abrasive wheels
• Trained or experience working in confined spaces would be desirable
• Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing or similar environment would be advantageous but not essential

What is on offer
On offer is the chance to join a leading manufacturing company who are continuously growing in success. You would benefit from a salary of £30,000 - £33,000, this is based on a 40-hour week working Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30.
